A forty-six-year-old woman visited Dyumna Women’s Clinic with complaints of heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding accompanied by large clots, severe dysmenorrhoea, chronic pelvic pain, urinary urgency with burning micturition, and marked fatigue, all of which worsened during menstruation. Ultrasonography revealed adenomyotic changes, and laboratory investigations showed low haemoglobin levels due to excessive menstrual blood loss.
She was treated with a personalised Ayurvedic protocol that included Rasayana therapy, Matra Basti, and customised medications, with specific modifications during menstruation as adenomyosis requires cycle-based management. Within eight weeks of treatment, she experienced significant improvement, including normalisation of menstrual flow, reduction in pain, resolution of urinary symptoms, and improvement in overall well-being.
Considering the chronic nature of adenomyosis, she was advised to continue treatment regularly and undergo periodic ultrasonography every three months. After fifteen months of consistent treatment, follow-up imaging showed no adenomyotic changes, and the patient remained symptom-free and satisfied with the outcome. This case demonstrates the long-term benefits of structured, individualised Ayurvedic management in chronic gynaecological conditions.
